Bicical commit to building brighter futures, partnering with Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity

The roster of corporate supporters of Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity has grown, as we welcome Bicical to their ranks.

Owned by Cal and Emma, Bicical is a bike retailer committed to helping people find their perfect bike, get active and lead a more sustainable lifestyle. Cal and Emma’s personal experiences of homelessness within their networks inspired them meant to help people in Greater Manchester who are struggling.

Bicical’s journey with Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity began in 2023, during the ‘1000 Beds for Christmas’ campaign. Instead of gifts, Cal and Emma, gifted a ‘bed’ to each other. Their gift provided a warm bed, hot meal, and full wrap around support for someone who really needs it through the A Bed Every Night scheme. However, their generosity did not stop there.

This act of kindness sparked an idea. They wanted to see how much more they could do for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness across the city-region, focussing their support on our pioneering scheme, A Bed Every Night.

For every business-to-business bike sold through Bicical, Cal and Emma will donate £30 to Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity and the A Bed Every Night scheme.

Not only are businesses benefiting from active and sustainable travel, their purchase means we can continue to be a lifeline to organisations on the frontline.

It is always such a joy to learn of new companies committing to a partnership with Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity, especially when their ethos is so well aligned to ours. It was inspiring to talk to Cal and Emma, learning about their drive and commitment to support us and our work.

I hope this partnership with Bicical inspires others to consider how they could show their support. Cal, Emma, thank you.
— Fran Darlington-Pollock, CEO, Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity
Homelessness, Addiction and Active Travel are all causes very close to our hearts. We were talking about finding a charity to support and when we came across GMMC and the A Bed Every Night campaign it felt like the perfect opportunity to give back to our community.

So, if you’re a business, why not consider gifting a ‘bed’ this Christmas. You never know what it might spark.

Together will we end homelessness. Feeling inspired? Get in touch today to find out how you can get involved.
